and so... i'm back

at work. sucks. that was so much fun i didn't want to stop. i was half tempted to haulass home, see my family and friends, and hi-tail it back here to milwaukee. oh well. maybe next time.

all in all, what a kickass time. i'd been waiting for this for months, and it was even cooler than i anticipated. 800 miles to hiltons VA without so much as a sputter out of my shovel. i need to call moon and thank him for building a kickass motor.

dave and i did our best on sunday to absolutely destroy both shovels. to no avail. i ended up running off the road stabbing the brakes way to hard on a 15mph turn. luckily it stayed up and neither me nor the bike received any major damage. dave then proceeded to take the lead the rest of the way back to the campsite.

never in my life did i think you could have so much fun on a rigid frame chopper. i don't think we went under 55mph at any one point in that sprint (besides running off the road).

the trip home was just as beautiful, maybe even more so. 23 has got to be the prettiest road anyone has ever built. feels like riding a giant rollercoaster for God knows how many miles. perfect.

i couldn't have asked for a better trip, or a better party then shadymayhem. what a ton of fun. not a single fight. not a single injury. not a single person had a bad time. to those that read this and had anything to do with organizing this event, thanks. thanks for bringing it back to the way it used to be. thanks for making a run the way a run should be. none of that bull-westcoast-ride-to-the-show-thats-20-miles-away. a real run. 1600 mile round trip. killer.
