so fifty years ago tonite, Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson all boarded a plane to be flown by Roger Peterson to the next stop of their Winter Dance Party tour in Moorhead Minnesota. Unfortunately we all know how the story ends, and unfortunately it ended that way because we are stuck with that never-ending "day the music died" song by Don McLean. regardless, pretty landmark day in the history of rock and roll, that's for certain.
