groceries or parts....

ahh... gotta love custom motorcycles... nothing wants to just bolt together. nothing wants to slip right into where its supposed to go and there's still plenty more to do. if all the planets align, i could be on the road sunday, but that remains to be seen... more likely next weekend. "dying for our dreams" feels more like "starving for our dreams" when you are running to the hardware store on an empty stomach with an empty fridge at home. staying late at the garage cause you HAVE to get that one last task squared away. getting home at midnite to swig off the milk jug and take a few bites of some leftovers before falling out face first. yet we can't get enough of it.

I'm ready for it to be done. I'm ready to ride it already. tired of going to a garage and not leaving on a motorcycle. soon.
very soon.

vinyl

been keeping the TV off and the turntable on around my house lately. I started collecting stuff at thrift stores, so i have quite an eclectic mix that has cost me next to nothing. I'll go out an buy stuff i'm actually looking for sometimes, but it's not all that often these days. anyway, here's some stuff thats been playing at my house lately.

so we're all tired of "born to be wild" and i'm sure that's the first thing you think of when you hear the name Steppenwolf, but do yourself a favor and give this album a chance before you rule them out completely. Unfortunately it falls just short of being as badass as it's cover...... c'mon just look at that dudes Davey Crockett getup.... WITH AN AFRO!!!!

you won't realize it till you hear it, but you already know some of Herb Alpert and his Tijuana Brass band. PJ's comment upon listening to it was that he needed a cigar and a margarita. I second that.
this isn't the actual album i have, but i guarantee you can pick up any temptations record and you will love it.

"Come on, man. I had a rough night and I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man!"
But give Joe a chance.. he's really good... and way out there. SEGWAY:

One of Joe Walsh's other bands. you know funk 49... and even if you don't, you can't deny how badass this picture is:

maybe its just me....

so last nite i heard the rumblings of the neighbor in apt. three and chocked it up to him being drunk as usual and coming home from a late nite. I was on the floor working on a take home exam for my astronomy class and figured i'd step out back for a smoke. as i get back inside and begin to pick up my pencil i can hear what sounds like cops outside my door barking orders. without even looking through the peephole (dumbass), i began to undo the lock and hear both cops simultaneously yell "STAY IN THE APARTMENT!" look through the peephole and see them with guns drawn and can hear my neighbor yelling at them. They've got him facedown on the carpet and are proceeding to cuff him while he denies that the now deceased body lying in his kitchen was his fault.

I didn't know the victim at all, and i didn't know my neighbor so well, but i'd see him in passing all the time. Always super nice. It wasn't till i get a tip from the barber across the street to stay away from him that i decided i would keep all communications down to a hello, some hallway chatter, and the friendly "have a good day". Glad i listened to the barber. I don't know all the details, but knowing someone just got stabbed to death about 20ft from you is a really creepy feeling. even crazier when you walk down to check the mail and see a number on a piece of paper on the ground with a blood stain next to it. i don't know, this is the closest i've ever been to murder and it just gives me the heebie-jeebies knowing the guy who did it..... i don't know... I'm in a weird mood right now.

frame is back from powedercoat and ready to be turned in to a motorcycle. It actually cost me less than i thought it would (a case of Heineken, and a 30pack of Milwaukee's Best Light) and came out fantastic. sorry, no pics. Although i wish i would have gotten some shots of the girls me and cody went out partying with saturday nite..... i'm sure they'd make the girls at that "other party" that was going on look like they're fresh out of the kennel.

later.

update....

so we ran out of gas on the welder at the shop with a mere seat tab to go. ah well.... The frame should be off to powdercoat monday, and hopefully back shortly there after. The coater quoted me a ridiculously low price, so i have a feeling when i'm actually ready to do it, he'll change his mind and it's gonna be quite a bit more, and if thats the case, it's krylon once again for me. I'm just anxious to get it back- it's all downhill from there.
went to a basement show last nite- Mother Orchis played with Breathe Fire and Ludicra. killer show! great sound, great crowd, and Roach, the bass player from Mother Orchis, looked hot as always!

anyway, I really don't have much today. just a mildly humorous, yet gut wrenching picture of 'ol One Legs turbo shovel...

yea. kinda gnarly, isn't it? it actually ripped the cases at the cylinder studs. bananas!

so remember how last year i put the 16in rear wheel back on my shovel because ski needed the 18incher for a project sporty? well, here she be so far. it's an 883 soon to be pumped up to a 1200. The front end is off his KTM that blew up and had to be parted out. should be a ball to ride!
